I am getting ready to order a new awning for the pup and it has an awning rail that the PO installed. It is upside down. I am wondering if I leave it as is will it make a difference? It currently has no awning.

Usually the awning rail is just a channel that the awning slide into, so it may not make a difference.

That's what I am hoping. I am a little concerned about possible wear on the bag.

I wont not worry about until you get an awning that wont work in the rail.

I don't know if I can salvage my rail or not, but I was thinking about mounting it upside down so the bag would be higher and out of the way of strip lights. I've found a flex rail that I really like and there isn't any difference in whether it's up or down.
