Camp Sherman it's self is a great small little town set along the Metolius River. If you are into fly fishing, then this is a must go area. Further north of the town there is a bunch of smaller camp grounds that are mostly primitive sites. All the camp grounds are along the river. If camping in this area during summer months please be aware that this is an area of high fire danger. And there is always a possibility of a speedy pack up after a summer lightening storm.

Camp Sherman by the bridge is one of there better CG's. They have a lot of walk in sites, and most are first come.

We stay in Candle Creek. Every site is a pull/back in. And they do take reservations. The draw back is that it is in an area that has been the edge of the fire line for the last couple years. And the section of the forest land to the north is off limits due to all the fires they have had.

We camp in the same spot every year (week before Memorial Day), just across from Canyon Creek (this year it was taken before we arrived). We used to camp at Canyon Creek, but they started charging huge fees and for our largish group it would have been too expensive. This year, we camped upstream on Canyon Creek, close to NF12/2 springs road intersection. I arrived Monday the week before the holiday weekend, and was surprised by the number of people/RV's already out. The caravans started flowing in late Tuesday, and (of course) by Friday we were essentially locked in to camp (no trips to Sisters/Bend - too much traffic).
