We stayed at the Freeport/Durham Maine KOA on our way to Acadia National Park in July, 2017. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Nice campground. The restrooms were very nice and clean. They have a security gate (card operated so you have access in and out as needed) and it appears that a member of the staff drives through the campground periodically to make sure that everything is OK at the sites, etc. It was a very pleasant experience.

Other great campgrounds along the way were Wakeda in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire and Hemlock Grove in Arundel, Maine.

Thanks for the review. Just looked at the sat images... looks like pretty much an open field. Did you have one of the central sites or one of the perimeter? At least those were slightly more secluded.
