    Hey folks,
The heater is my '98 Santa Fe makes a sort of whirring/rattling sound when it's running. If the thermostat comes on at night, it's loud enough to wake up my wife (and sometimes me). Any idea what might be causing it?
    Thanks!

Sounds to me like either you have a bearing going out in the fan motor, or something loose rattling around inside the squirrel cage. Either way, I imagine you're going to have to pull it out to fix it, we'll hope for the 'something loose'...that's the cheaper fix, good luck

Try this first- when it comes on, check the vent grate covering. Ours vibrated pretty badly, but a little weatherstripping between the grate and the wall fixed that rattle.

OK, so I may have mis-stated the issue. Upon listening to it again, it's more of a squeal/squeak while running. Does anything need to be lubricated on this heater?
