    Hi!

I need to repair some rot on the slideout of my 2000 Jayco 12SO. There's an underlayment/ vapor barrier on the underside, and I've not seen anything quite like it. Any idea what it is, or what is a suitable replacement?

No clue. I dont have a slide out or a vapor barrier on my old Coleman. I would just fix the rot and not worry about replacing that peice. I know some newer models( not sure of make or model) had some sort of barrier and that caused the rot, as it trapped moisture rather then alowing it to breathe.

Agree with the above post. Did it rot out because of the vapor barrier??

Interesting - hadn't heard this, but don't think it would be surprising... thanks!

Not in this instance - you can trace the leak from one top corner of the slide-out, down and across. Doesn't mean, as Sjm9911 mentioned, it wasn't helped along the way at the bottom sill by that barrier. Thanks!

Please put more details. It may be a roofing membrane there.
