Hello! We recently purchased a generator for our pop up camper. We tow our camper with a SUV. Where do people store their generators during travel? It can definitely fit in the camper but is it safe to travel with it inside of the camper? My husband thinks it needs to be stored outside of the camper and car while traveling.

Ok we have a 2003 Fleetwood Sequoia Pop Up and just purchased a Champion generator. I guess my question is it ok to put inside if the camper while on the road? My husband thinks it needs to be outside of the camper and car.

I can't find the size of it on the website but this is the one we have, it would definitely fit in the camper but is it safe to travel with a generator inside of the camper? My husband thinks because of the gas it should be stored out of the camper and car.

Depends if the fuel cap is vented to atmosphere or not.

Yes, close off the fuel supply and close the vent on the fuel tank cap.

I usually have mine in the back of the SUV. Then at the site I remove it and chain it to the frame of the pup

If I had to transport a generator inside the camper I'd put it in a large plastic container with a lid to keep the odors contained. I found a container that holds my Honda generator nicely. I actually use it in the garage, I transport it in the back of my truck.

I have two of them and a parallel kit.

For a very loooong thread on another forum which has everything you could want to know:
    http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/24022161.cfm

The best place to purchase is SuperGen Products.

You really should start your own thread rather than causing confusion tacking onto someone else thread.
