Anyone have any experience with these timber tote logs that you can get from Lowes and other places? Seems like an easy/lazy way to spend a couple of hours in front of a fire.

I've seen those but never used one. Always wondered how good they work.

The concept, called a Swedish Fire (Torch) Log, works REALLY well. You can make them yourself if you have some patience. Here's one video:

I have built them myself out of pallets. I took the 4X4 feet off pallets, drilled the shaft and side hole, then attached some pallet planks to the side, and they burn like CRAZY! I stuck a cotton ball with Vaseline inside, and just hit it with a fire stick and BAM, instant fire. I used them to start a fire usually.

I use a LP fire pit now, but sure, in concept, they actually work pretty good.
