Has anyone stayed at Half Moon? We're thinking of going there the last week of July. Thanks, Alan

DW and I have stayed there many times. It's small and the sites are nice and it's a quiet park. Half Moon Pond is small but a nice pond. If you have young children they may be boarded unless they swim or canoe. Lake Bamaseen State Park with a larger day beach and camping is near by but we like Half Moon better. The staff at Half Moon is very nice everytime we went. This park is a favorite of me and the DW.

I will. My wife found someone else that has been there and likes it too. Looking forward to it.

If you go to the Vermont State Parks website, they may have pics of the individual sites via their interactive campground maps.

What a great looking park, The interactive website photos are great.

My wife used the website pics to make the reservation while the woman on the phone told her what was available. We'll be at T-14.
We had reservations for the week b4 Labor day at Lily Bay in Maine but then our school district decided to start next year a few days b4 Labor day. By the time we got that news, Lily Bay was booked through the summer<img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_sad.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Sad">.

Great. Hope you have a very good time and enjoy our state. If you get a chance, drive Rte. 30 from Castleton to Manchester (due south) and check out Lake St. Catherine State Park along the way and the village green in Dorset, and Mach's Store in Poultney. The store is built over a gorge and if you go inside head to the back of the store and there is a spot to look straight down into the gorge. This section of Rte. 30 is called the Stone Valley Byway. And, all of the towns are small and wonderful. Manchester is a fun town large and bustling with lots to see and do and shopping abounds with outlet stores. It's the home of a wonderful Orvis fishing store. Very expensive but fun to see. It is about an hours drive through some very pretty country through the Mettawee Valley.

My family and I just took our first popup trip with our N2U 2010 Fleetwood Premier. We had a great time. We were on the western bank on the water and it was a perfect weekend. The kids fished for hours and pulled in pumpkinseeds about one per minute. We also caught some small perch and Large Mouth Bass, and saw a 15" large mouth take a thrown back pumpkinseed. The campground was quite quiet, super clean and all around beautiful. The only issue we had was the local bull frog population. Started up at 10 PM and went for hours. If you have it, bring some white noise generator to drown them out! I am pretty sure we will swing by there again. There are just only so many weekends in a summer and so many places to visit!
