A couple questions about my Starcraft Stardust

The "Safety Switch" for my Starcraft is under the flip-up back-board on one of the Dinette benches, but I have a slide-out so that may not apply to yours.

DC Wiring for 12 V Panel

Hey Bob, Just something to consider................A lot of Campers use "Black" wire for the positive + DC circuits, and "White" for the negative - DC circuits. This is different than automotive DC wiring, and can cause confusion when wiring up 12-volt accessories inside a Camper. Not sure if...

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

The roof does close with the mattress-topper in place. It is the absolute max thickness that will still allow the roof to close.

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

It will open "part way", but I'm not really planning to use the fridge in that position when set-up. I'll move it to either on top of the shower cabinet, or outside on a table when parked. The lids will open in either direction, or are removable entirely. I can always remove the lids to access...

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

Yes, I'll store the old fridge in my shed. I can put everything back the way it was if I ever sell it.

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

There's plenty of leftover stain, and I had one cabinet door underneath one of the dinette benches where the vinyl-covering had shrunk and was peeling off and torn. I took the door off, and peeled all the remaining vinyl "wood-look" covering off. I used some "goof-off" to get all the adhesive...

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

Since there is now this big space where the old fridge used to be, I added something that I've wanted in this camper that it never had................a "Utensil-Drawer" We've always just chucked all the cooking-utensils and silverware into bins underneath the sink. I started by mounting some...

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

Since there is already a 120-volt outlet "right there" from the old fridge, I just had to move some wires around and install a 12-volt lighter-socket in there as well. I used the wires that powered the 12-volt heating element from the old fridge. I also cleaned-up some of the other wiring that...

    Pulled the 3-way Fridge! Bought a Compressor-Fridge, and built a Utensil-Drawer.

The last couple camping seasons, I noticed a decline in the performance of the 3-way Fridge. I tried everything, and cleaned everything really well. The burner, the flue, the propane orifice. It used to work awesome on propane, but after much testing and even buying a new orifice-cup, it just...

July 2022 - what did you do for your camper?

Finally got around to fixing the end-clips on the "Shepherd's Poles" for the bunk-ends and the dinette-slideout. A couple of them have been broken for a long time, and had been just using them the way they were. I was able to pull them out easily using my bench-vice. I measured the poles, and...

    Galley kill switch wiring help

It won't matter which wire goes to which terminal. The kill-switch will work hooked-up either way. It just completes the circuit to power the ceiling lights and vent-fan.

    Dometic Fridge issues; advice needed

According to the picture posted above, (I'm assuming this is a picture of the main 12-volt connection on the back of the fridge?) That large black wire is the 12-volt +positive wire. It needs to be connected into the plastic block at the lower-left and held in place by the set-screw. This is the...

    Jayco electric lift problem

You might have gotten lucky, and gravity did most of the lowering for you. My electric winch on the Starcraft uses about 60-70 amps to raise the roof. There is no way the converter alone would supply enough power. You have to have a good battery connected.

    Jayco electric lift problem

You have to have a good, fully-charged battery connected to use the electric winch. The shore-power converter will not provide enough amps to use the winch by itself. It will probably just "Beep" at you.

Two renogy 100watt solar panels managed by one controller?

One controller will handle both panels no problem. Each panel will put out around 6-amps max in full sunlight. One 30-amp controller is fine.

    Raise roof on shore power?

The Roof-Winch is a 12-volt Motor, and requires a Battery to operate. They draw quite a lot of amps to raise the roof. When plugged into shore-power, your Converter will provide 12-volt power into the system but not enough amps to use the winch without a battery connected..........at least the...
