200 miles in and some weather stripping fails.

It could also be that center seam. My center seam was constantly needing to be recaulked. That and the vent was the source of most of the leaks on my ‘90 Jayco along with the weatherstripping around the door. Just wanted to provide a few things to check as those seemed to be the weakest...

    Solo Stove Campfire

That is cute and even better doesn’t take as much room As the propane fire pits. Are you allowed to use that during a burn ban? I’m thinking not, especially where not even charcoal is allowed. It’s cute though and way less work involved than a regular fire pit.

FINALLY DONE! 1993 Starcraft Starmaster Vista 1224

Very well done. Really like the valance you made above the windows. Just looking at it you would never guess it’s age. You worked hard on it and it shows. Hope you get many many years out of it.

    Newbie to Popup world

Welcome from northern Virginia. It would be so nice to have both a Popup and travel trailer. That way you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Good luck with your project.

    Fresh water tank access

Kind along the same lines as above just a different version than the one above. In the one below pressing Down tells the faucet to feed from city, pumping the handle up and down feeds from the onboard tank.

    Rainy Weekend??

You can try a trivet inside the Dutch oven or something similar to a meat rack. I use foil liners myself to make clean up a 1000 times easier. You can use a liner if you can add a little space between the bottom of the pan and the DO.

    Patching canvas question

I had used patches as well with success. I only had issues with the glue holding on a seam. I followed the instructions on my patch kit to a T. The patches work best if you cut them in a circle as it offers no edges to lift up over time. My kit included something called tear mender which...

Theft in Portland at an all time high

In my city, thank gosh, vehicle theft isn’t as strong yet. However your vehicle is by far from safe here. Air bag, catalytic converter, gps, and battery theft has sky rocketed As well as general vandalism like slashed tires, being keyed, or most recently painted. Police have other bigger fish...

    Rainy Weekend??

That looks so good. I’m assuming the second is a desert of some sort. I can’t think of a better way to keep warm in the rain then by feasting on a meal cooked in cast iron. [CK]

    No Factory Battery Setup?

I had an old 1990 Jayco 1006 that also didn’t have wires for a battery. I was told some other units had them in the bench seat But not all were wired. Then again on mine the only amenity it had was a stove and sink with manual pump handle. It had a worthless icebox that couldn’t hold ice. So...

    Allegany State Park

If this is allegany state park in New York. It is an absolute beautiful park. Absolutely no cell service and bears are active so be very careful to follow the bear rules the park makes you sign. Unfortunately I can't remember what loop I stayed in, but it was crazy difficult to back in and...

Easy way to set up and take down awning?

Unfortunately my family had a situation when the wind tore out guylines and flipped the awning on top of the popup roof unfortunately causing a small hole in the roof so yes there are situations you may have to take the awning down mid trip. Not fun but neither is the damage that could occur if...

    Stack jacks

I have had two popups’s over the years. The first one was like you describe the wheel came off when ready to tow. my current camper jack does swing up when ready to tow. I personally do love that style the most as the crank handle is out of the way as well. As far as why there is a...

    Roof Rot

Sorry to hear about the rot. Sadly had that happen to my old camper. Sadly that in combination of a broken lift I chose not to repair. Best of wishes to your daughter and the family for the big day. I was so relieved my brother chose to stay local for their wedding years ago. I was worried...

September 2022 - what did you do for your camper?

@vagov, Ouch! Looks like it completely bypassed the bumper. Did this happen at the campground or at home? By the way were you at Cadourus SP? I tried looking for you at the DOG but kind of forgot what you looked like it's been so long. [:I].

September 2022 - what did you do for your camper?

Went to RV storage lot to air out the camper after closing it up wet the weekend before after my camping trip. The weather was perfect yesterday, 85 sunny and breezy and humidity was down too. So it didn’t take long for it to dry. As I was going around I discovered the LED light strip I...
