What's been your biggest camping issue to-date? (equip, breakdown, etc.)

We’ve been campers all of 3 months. The husband wanted to mount bikes on the back bumper of our pup and I told him that was a terrible idea and why - he even saw videos/posts on why not to do this. Many arguments later, he was still convinced the welds would hold and on the bikes went. Stopped...

Clearing water lines when taking down

Thank you! I will make sure we do that.

For those campers who log their trips and site numbers :)

This is our first year camping and I’ve started a spreadsheet with camp info, price, amenities, and notes. I have separate folders for photos. We’ve only been to 3 places so it’s going great! 😉

Clearing water lines when taking down

We do. We replaced it with a goose neck faucet that is taller than the bunk track.

Clearing water lines when taking down

Huh, low point drains. Gonna look that up because I haven’t heard of it and don’t know what that is. Thank you!!

Clearing water lines when taking down

After disconnecting from city water I flush the toilet and leave faucets open until dry. Or I thought I did. We always end up with water pooling near the sink - mainly because water still comes out when we removed the goose faucet to close the roof. We sometimes get a light trickle from the...

What’s the best pop up camper made from 2000 - 2010?

We are new to camping and have the same camper as you. We bought it from a friend who upgraded to a TT and never opened the pop up after he bought it. For not knowing anything about campers I feel like we got a good deal on a solid camper. It’s just my husband and I so there is ample room for...

    Kiptopeke State Park

This park is on our list - we love the Eastern Shore and are heading to a different camp ground there next month (can’t remember the name of it right now). Love the pooch pic, looks like he found a comfy space. 😀

First camping trip was a success

Our power pole was on the wrong side...actually our camper was turned around. Instead of backing in, we drove it thru the site since our friend had the one 'behind' us. This allowed our doors to face the center area and face our other friends camper that was at the site next to us. Making sure...

First camping trip was a success

Once the memory foam compresses it's fine. We'll consider taking out the padding but for now it's adding that extra oomph that my back really needed.

Thank you, I'll pass the info along. What a gorgeous site, where is that?

First camping trip was a success

We are going to North Bend in August...around our parts we call everything on Kerr "Lake Gaston" even though they are separate areas. :) Looking forward to finally being able to SUP longer than 45 seconds before a wave knocks me off the board. What inflatable kayak do you have or are there any...

First camping trip was a success

Over the weekend we camped with one new camper family and a seasoned couple. Had a great site at Virginia Landing where we were all together and had empty (non-usable) sites between us so we had a lot of room for their 4 dogs. Everything went fantastic, the only issue we had was that we didn’t...

    Screws for outside shower

Thanks again! I’ll see what we have and go from there.

    Screws for outside shower

Thank you!! Is there another option to using these like regular screws? We are using butyl tape for the install if that makes any difference.

    Screws for outside shower

Happy Independence Day! We are replacing the outdoor shower box and have no idea what type of screws these are or what tool is used to remove them. Our new kit didn’t come with hardware so we’re hoping to reuse these if possible. Nothing in the manuals we have and I don’t know what to look for...

    USB Outlets?

This is perfect, thank you! I'll take a look - Costco is the most magical place on earth (according to my husband) and we are up there weekly. I think they'd call us to make sure we were OK if they didn't see us for a 10-day stretch. This would be a much better solution than changing the outlets.

    Ah, good call...thanks!

    USB Outlets?

Right?? I was out working in the pup tonight - there was a nice cross breeze coming in and I was still sweating (and swearing about how hot it was). We pretty much have a 'no screen' rule while we are vacationing but we do need to charge our blue tooth speakers. And mosquito repellant device...

    USB Outlets?

That's what I was thinking as well. Since this doesn't seem to be a quick job, I"ll likely wait until the fall when the weather doesn't feel like it's hell outside.
