We had a similar problem! I only put my door down at night - otherwise its attached to the ceiling in tow mode. We go in and out a lot. :)

Can you elaborate on how you made the shelf mount? I have the slide rail on the side of the camper already, but curious what bracket to attach to a wood shelf to make it slide on and stay propped up.

I think the previous owner used regular tub and shower caulking to seal the nooks and crannies (and the roof rails) - will this be a problem in the long run? Should I use a caulk remover to remove it and use something different? What product do ya'll recommend to seal? Also, can I paint over...
