There is a ton of misunderstanding and misinformation in this thread. The Jayco pups of this vintage (mine isa 1997) use a pair of intermediate harnesses that plug into a 6 pin (2x3) rectangular connector on the tongue. One of the adapters is for the trailer lights. That will account for a...
One of the best things I have done to make camping better for our family was to buy a Kindling Cracker to keep in the PUP instead of a hatchet. The tool has a really cool story but hands down it works. Lately I have been taking it over to neighboring campers when I see them trying to make...
It really doesn't look that bad. I'd probably stick a hydraulic jack and a block of wood in there bracing off the intersection on the left side of the image. I bet most of it pushes back out without too much trouble.
I got the transport latch in place. After thinking it over I went with a knob into a threaded insert. That will prevent us getting jabbed in the back by any other type of latch or clasp.
I have a fairly heavy pop up camper and soft ground next to my shop building on which I park it under a portable awning. To prevent the wheels from sinking into the sandy ground I have been using 2 4x816 concrete blocks that I back it onto.
This solution sucks.
Getting the trailer backed into...
There were other shower seat options that I looked at. I just picked this one because it had a high enough weight rating for my fat butt.
This looks like the same as mine but in silver and teak instead.
Like many, we don't wear our shoes in the camper. We have a shoe rack that we put right outside the door and pretend our kids will put them neatly in the rack.
When we leave for a hike or other activity we usually use the camper step as a seat to put shoes on. A good chunk of time that means...
Any suggestions on lift parts suppliers or best practices of lifting a corner at a campsite in order to not cancel an upcoming trip?
Brought the camper home this afternoon to make sure all was well for a trip this coming Monday. Got distracted and forgot to unlatch a corner before starting to...
This can be done safely and effectively. I can't see the actual design of your setup but it can be done well. We bought our Jayco 12SO with a hitch like this already modified to it. I inspected how it was designed and it ties back across multiple frame members and it I wanted to I could pick...
If the breakaway switch was pulled out, the system acted exactly like it should have. It used the battery on the trailer to energizer the brakes. The truck saw that the wire was energized when it shouldn't have been and popped up your warning light. It looks like both the front and rear axles...
It's an in house unit designed for a bathroom or single faucet. I think it is an Atmor AT-900. We wanted it primarily for doing dishes so it needed to be hot, not warm. It is mounted under the sink inside the cabinet and has it's own service cable that goes out the same hole as the regular...
My Jayco 12SO didn't come with a water heater or a pump. I modified it with a pump first and then put in an on demand heater the year after that (and replaced it the following year after I let it freeze).
To install an on demand you are going to need two separate plug ins. When we camp we...
