What vehicle do you have? The one on my Tacoma is only 400 watts and not practical for anything above a light bulb.Just wondering if anyone with a built in Inverter on their vehicle and normal 120v plugs use them while camping. Wondering if there are some great uses for it while boondocking.
You have to start the vehicle for it to work would be one downside.
This! Exactly. Chargers and low voltage stuff. Anything bigger and it will not work. What vehicle do you have? The one on my Tacoma is only 400 watts and not practical for anything above a light bulb.
I do the same, but I am not bringing a pancake compressor! I use a Ryobi dual air pump. One side is high volume low pressure, the other side is low volume high pressure. I use it for the inflatable mattresses.I use mine in the truck for a small pankake compresser. So that goes with me on longer trips. I can air up tubes, kyacks and tires. Other then that, i use it to plus in my electric ac/dc cooler when traveling.
I was hoping so, but unfortunately can’t think of anything too amazing so far! I guess it could be used as a power station by turning on the TV and running an extension cord to power some stuff around the campsite if I needed to. Or charge some devices if I had a solar setup but it was a few cloudy days in a row or something… that’s about all I can come up with1500w is a lot. Most dont have that ability. So you could do more.
1500 is enough to run a 75a dc charger for the camper batteries. It's also enough for a coffee maker, microwave, and wired chain saw.I was hoping so, but unfortunately can’t think of anything too amazing so far!
