Anyone have tips on vinyl plank flooring install? The articles I've read say to leave a 3/8 inch expansion gap around the edge, which seems excessive.

I don’t know about vinyl plank but I used laminate in my house and at 1st I followed the leave a 1/4” gap rule but then stopped and ran it right up to the wall. You can tell a difference. Many of my planks separate where there is a gap. No gap no separation. I have done 3 rooms since I started doing it this way and no problems. I won’t leave a gap anymore.

Just seeing this now. We have exactly the same trailer, but still pretty much original. It's spent a goodly part of the last 30 years in our driveway, sadly. We do have the furnace, which is handy on the colder evenings.

Did you see any concerning rust on the frame when you cleaned out the subfloor? The pics look like the steel was in pretty good shape.

Not really. There were a couple small areas of surface rust. I sanded them then sprayed it over with rust reformer. Looks like it ought to last another 30 years.

Back is slowly improving so finally got back to work on the sedona. Quarter round is all installed to my semi-rigid standards. Next up is finishing the vinyl plank under the dinette benches. Then a few other minor things inside and I will tackle painting and installing the stepper door and get to work on my slouchy double bed.

So whats the best course here? All new brake set? New hub/drum combo as well? The hubs dont look too bad and the bearings looked nice and greasy. Id rather not fork out an extra 150 or so for new hubs, but etrailer suggests replacing brakes and hubs at the same time. Of course they have an interest on that count.
