I'll take Gainesville over Orlando any day of the week. Sounds like you'll need some rest and probably a vacation after that move. Have you camper ever in central or northern Florida ?

Flew down last year, told my DD I wanted to camp, bought her a small dome tent , and roughed it at Moss park want to get the camper down there, though January and February can be a tough pull home that time of year especially trough the mountains. Will keep a close eye on you southern folk, for upcoming events

Vagov -- thanks for mentioning Moss park last year. After reading your post, we decided to stay there over Christmas break (6 nights). It was a great park!

Because I've never been there I googled Stephen Foster State Park and Trip Adviser has some really good pictures of the Park and the campground. It gets really good reviews. (Orchid you're so smart) It's kind of out in the middle of nowhere but that's good right ??? Does anyone know if you can rent canoes and paddle there ? I'm going to bring corn hole...among other things

I can't take credit for the park pick, SHFL picked 3 for us to choose from, I just eliminated Suwannee because the sites with hook-ups are parking-lot-ish to me. I was good with Stephen Foster or O'leno.

I've never actually camped at Stephen Foster. It's very close to me, so not sure why we haven't. We go there every year for their Christmas Festival. It says that canoe rentals are available locally. I'm guessing that must mean outside the park, but close by. I'm not really sure. I may just drive over tomorrow and take a spin through.

We looked at the campsites when we first moved here, and liked them. It's been ten years, though, and that's all I remember. Time for a new look-see.

Orchid anything we can help with, let us know.....Sue and I have a 10x20 fully enclosed party tent that will be with us (just in case). also an unlimited supply of fire wood as our pup has a toy huller deck and an off the ground fire pit we always bring. I know its early but We would be willing to host a night if you are looking.
