There was some talks last year about a DV Rally that fizzled out and is closed for comment so I can't resurrect it. I'm wondering is there is any more interest into having one March 2019.

Thinking the weekend of 3/22 - 3/24?

I have never been to the area but from the previous thread by @ChocoChock01 , he mention the following POI:

Panamint Springs
Dunes Stovepipe
Wells Village Sand Dunes
Devils Cornfield
Scottys Castle
Salt Creek Nature Trail
Harmony Borax Works
Furnace Creek
Zabriskie Point
Dantes View
Golden Canyon
Artists Drive
Devils Golf Course
Badwater Basin
Mormon Point

What about campground recommendations?

What say you?

For now, I have booked Furnace Creek from 3/23 to 3/26 to start off our spring break. There are a hand full of sites left there. There are also a few dry/boondocking areas if there is more interest that may accommodate more of us if this gains interests but I don't know the area and believe its will still be busy season in March so I cannot make recommendations as to which CG may be best.

We're hoping to be host camping in Assateague Island, MD by late March so we will vacate the desert SW by mid/late Feb. If we can ever get there to begin with!

Artist's Drive is a definite must for anyone visiting DVNP! My daughter and I drove through last summer and the colors and rock formations along that loop and that part of the park in general are amazing!

I got a few spots that I plan to see but being that its my first time there, I'm keeping my plans somewhat open. I will swing by the visitors center and see what they have for the kids Jr Ranger Program and start there.

They have a calendar up on the park website. https://www.nps.gov/deva/planyourvisit/calendar.htm. There are 6 events between the 23rd & 24th. There are a couple that are daily repeats so four different events that all seem really cool. All of Saturday's events are also available on Friday. I don't think I'll make it early enough for the first two. The astronomy one (8:30-9:30pm) is a possibility.

I think that might be Badwater (on my list I need to make of places to see) in that SFGate gallery.

I'm thinking I'll be rolling in by 3pm. Google is saying 5:20-6:20 (hours) drive time. Hoping to leave at 7am (hah!). Figure an hour or so for stops (late breakfast/early lunch @Love's in Tehachapi as I know I can get in and out easily).

Nice. Thanks.

I plan on arriving Sat around 1pm so Saturday will be a set up and relax day. Sunday and Monday will be our exploring days...

Might hit up 3 of those events.
