Coleman lock popped out

Last year when I was trying to open the door at one campground the handle of the stepper down lock popped right out of the slot/hole.
I got the spring back in and was able to get it back in and turn it to open the door.
But now it is time to fix it. Is there something just loose in there that needs tightening? OR is it completely broken?
I read that the door is all riveted, so hate to have to deal with all that drilling just to get the lock replaced.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I think to replace it you need to take it apart. I could be wrong, but dont think I am. Mine would have a problem with deploying the latches, I hot the door untill it lined up. So, I never took the door apart.

Is it obvious if it's broken, or just fell apart.
This looks like the same one, I don't know if a local locksmith would have the same one, although they do carry RV-useful locks.

Well, I can't tell how these work inside. The key and turning part (in my hand) just popped out, there is a spring inside the hole part on the door. But it isn't supposed to come out like this. But I can put it back in and it does turn, and lock, so the insides are still OK I assume. but did it just wear out the latch that holds the turning handle.

Yes, that one at Coleman parts is correct. I am just trying to avoid taking the whole door apart, as it includes drilling out rivets and and opening it all up. then putting it all back together somehow, I don't have a rivet gun.

HF has an inexpensive hand rivet tool, and Derek at Coleman Parts did a video on stepper door repair.
I would hate to have a trip disrupted because the latch/lock mechanism finally failed to work.

Does the door actually need to be disassembled to replace the lock? There are screws on the lock in your photo.
We never had to replace that lock on our popups, but we have replaced locks (plural) on our TT, and the door didn't have to be disassembled to do that.
