So when we firs got to Calgary before we had our PUP we did several tent weekends at this Alberta Provincial Park.
The park is about two and a half hours east of Calgary.
Easy to get to.
Has a nice little general store that sells ice cream!!!
From the campground you can get to several easy to moderate hikes.
And the views from any of them are breath taking.
This campground is great for a quick get out of town or a nice stop along the way.

Have stayed there numerous times--wifi (free) in the campground, activities like dinosaur bone hunting (costs)---We absolutely loved every minute of staying there
