One of the things that duck tape is NOT suited for is use a duct tape.
The PE gets brittle from the heat and degrades quickly, the adhesive softens and creeps loose.
Waterproof, yes. Heat resistant, no.

Lol, spam , jurry cans, and duck tape. That was a gem! And , I always thought it was duct tape also. I now have more useless knowlage in my small brain. Thanks for that.

BTW, gaphers tape works better with less residue
