Hello Brilliant People!! I am having an issue. I just purchased a 2009 Jayco popup and its canvas needs some work. The previous owner decided it would be a good idea to put Flex seal all over the vinyl and seams. Imagine a kindergartener given a paintbrush and Elmer's glue, this is where we are. I need to get this stuff off of it. Does anyone have any idea how I can do so? In a perfect world I would be replacing the canvas, but seeing as there is a year wait, that is not going to happen. On top of the Flex seal, The window screen seams are busted. Has anyone fixed these before? Thank you for all the help, tips and insights!

Thank you for your response. I have contacted both of those paces and Bear creek said to call them next January and Canvas replacements said it was going to be around 6 months. I purchase these pop ups to redo and flip so I try to only keep them for only a few months. I purchased this camper thinking that I could utilize Bear creek but not so much.

Sorry to hear that. Yup, the Canvas and the Lift System are the most common components needing repair in an older PUC. And when it comes to the Canvas, you need to go to the pros (BCC or CR).

I was thinking this is the route I am going to have to go. Thoughts on mineral spirits hurting vinyl?

Do you have pictures. You will probably be better off not trying to remove the flex seal. You might damage the old canvas. Can you cover the Flex seal with something else. Until you get a new canvas. You really only need to keep the bugs out, the camper can be covered with a tarp for rain.

Well, even if you get the Flex Seal off, what kind of conduction was the canvas in originally that made the PO attempt a repair with Flex Seal? You may end up having going the BCC or CR route after all.

Flex seal like fix a flat needs to go away. Rarely works and causes a bigger mess. When I worked at a tire shop we charged extra to repair a tire that had fix a flat in it. Such a nasty mess to clean up. I have tried flex seal on a few things and shocker didn’t work.
