Hello everyone. I have grease buddy's on my popup trailer .They work ok but I would like the e-z lube type. I have a 95 Jaco Jay . Does any one know if The e-z lube will go on my hub without changing the anything else? Or would I need a hub too?
Thanks .

E-z lube is part of the design of the axle and not interchangeable. Either you have e-z lube or you don't.

If by saying grease buddies, you mean bearing buddies, then there is a whole other argument on using them vs not using them. Some people swear by them, others think they should be banned. Bearing buddies can give you a false sense of security because the don't actually lube the all of the bearings.

Unlike the e-z lube system, grease cannot reach the rear bearing using bearing buddies. Therefor, the rear bearings tend to fail. I have spoken with axel mechanics and most of them tell me that they see more bearing failures on axels using bearing buddies than those without.

I use bearing buddies on my boat trailer, but still repack the bearings the old fashion way every three years.

See THIS for an explanation of the differences between bearing buddies and e-z lube.

Yes I know what you mean .I have already changed my mind about changing but will attempt to do it by hand which was recommended to me by another person. I thank You very much for the answer. And as always ,Happy camping. Jerry

Bearing Buddies will lube all the bearings. You just have to pump enough grease in to fill the hub so that the next few pumps go back to the rear Bearing. The trick is to not to overfill and force grease past the rear seal. For this reason, I do not use them on trailers with brakes. I have them on my brakeless trailers, though.
