Getting ready to crank up the GO under the upper deck for a check up, wife screams, this rascal was chillin' in the mulch lol...love having 'em around at home or in the woods; must have come out of the wood line looking for chipmunks...

Such a glorious snake!

We don't get many snakes here but found one under a flowerpot the other day. Yelled "SNAKE!!!!!" and the whole family came running to admire it. Of course it was smaller than our lizards...

Same here, freakin' tree rats act like they're digging for gold lol; have green/garter/ring necks as well, only snake not allowed around the house is a copperhead...

I’d scream to if that beauty surprised me but then I would stand and admire him. We have seen plenty of black rat snakes on our property. They make excellent neighbors. They’re happy to control squirrels if they are lucky enough to find a nest of babies.
