Camped here last weekend for the first time. Sites were well-separated by space and brush. Just vault toilets and no showers, which was fine for us as we were only there 2 nights. Kids had a blast playing in the woods behind the sites, and we hiked some of the Ice Age Trail that runs next to the campground. Contrary to the name, the campground is not on the lake - you could probably hike to the lake, but with the kids it may be too far for that.
Campground is 5 miles south of the City of Whitewater; about an hour from Milwaukee.
Only complaint is how fast people would drive through the campground.
Seemed to help if we laid a kid's bike right next to the road...
