Dh and I took our N2U pup to Lake Jordan for a trial run in late July. Loved the roomy shady campsite, really nice people, and had a wonderful camping experience but the ticks were ferocious. Just a note to anyone staying in Crosswinds to take along a good tick repellant. From past personal experience, if you do get bitten and develop a bullseye looking rash (from the tiny lone star tick STARI) see a doctor for some doxycycline antibiotic. That one can make you very sick.

Lake Jordan is one of my favorites to visit. I go down almost every spring for the NC-VA Dutch oven gathering. The time I go is too early for ticks and other bugs and at times down right cold. But very enjoyable place. One of these days I will bring my kayak and really take advantage of the place. My favorite site is the water fronts even though I don't have hookups.

I agree, we are lucky to have a state park with a beautiful lake and multiple campgrounds so close to us. We reserved a space in Parkers Creek for next month's trip.

My very first time there I got b15 and was absolutely shocked I found such a great site. I pulled in and I started double checking I got the correct site. I am Not used to being able to grab in my mind a prime site. Grant you, that day the weather was 32 degrees windy and rainy. I was the only crazy person in a tent in that entire place. I was hooked from that point on. Just upgraded my mode if sleeping accomodations to a tent trailer after that.[:D]
