A little background. I consider myself part of the online pioneers having worked many years for CompuServe, which at one time if you were online, you were on CompuServe. I started exploring the internet just before that. One of the several things that killed CompuServe was that there is so much free content on the internet and most people now have a direct line to the internet. Of course I spend too much time on facebook and several camping groups there. While the camping groups on Facebook are pretty good, there are many and some not run so well. While you can say that you get what you pay for, this site is technically free, I do admire the resources here, the content, and how well run it is. This is the main reason I became a supporting member and probably will remain so. In my mind, my financial support has now helped this forum become what it is.

Thinking ahead, any chance of updates that would make this forum mobile browsing friendly? (That said I haven't tried accessing it yet on my phone) I've belonged to other forums that had apps you could access forums with making posting on the road easier. I rarely access the internet while camping, but there are times I wouldn't mind posting an occasional thought or photo, or perhaps do a new campground review while its still fresh.

Tried one of those apps a few years back with a different version of forum software. The big issue was that they took away about 95% of the ad revenue for themselves and did not allow for custom ads.

The mobile browser version for this forum software is about the best I’ve seen. Works almost the same as a desktop browser.

Thank you for your support.

I admit I like looking at the Portal on my iPhone's Safari browser better than the old Tappatalk. I do have Firefox on my phone too, just don't usually bother to bring it up on the phone or iPad.
I still like looking at the Portal and most everything else better on my laptop, iPad second, and iPhone has 3rd place.

That is for sure. This is way better then the old Tapatalk we used to have. I use my droid phone or IPad to get on this site and don't have any complaints using either. Well I do have to remember to close all the way out and go back in every once in a while or I get errors when posting, but minor inconvenience. I just wish the state parks websites was as mobile friendly as this site. Some are just gosh awful . 😀.

I had used Tapatalk for other forums and had forgotten its name. Im now replying on my phone. This does seem much better. Now for a random photo to see how that works/looks.

Good, this should be more camping this year than the last 3, so I'm glad I will be able to access this forum once in awhile while camping!
