Making progress y’all. Got the old whiffle tree out and taking it to work with me tomorrow so I can transfer the parts needed from the old to the new. The bar that holds the cables on the old one was smoked (I think). I was able to wiggle and slide it off the shaft (without turning it. That’s not good I assume. Hoping to have it back together tomorrow and see if I can get the top off. My question is once I put it back together, do I just tighten the cables until they are snug? With or
Without tip up.

Getting the cables snug is the start. Also make sure they are still on the pulleys. Very easy for them to have slipped off without tension. Then you'll want to follow the instructions for setting the height for each cable once you can raise the roof. Pretty sure that's in the manual.

Just remember to not try raising it without the cover on since the cover is a bearing surface.

Okay perfect! I’ll have to try to find a manual. I’ve tried on here but for some reason it says I can’t download it? It’s greyed out on this forum.

Guys, I’m having a little trouble and scratching my head. I have one eyelet bolt that won’t go all the way through the whiffletree.

Is it the same length as all the others? Could you just buy a longer eye bolt?
I’m not sure. Im also confused as to why when I crank it, it doesn’t stay in the position when I stop, it wants to crank backwards by itself. Little confused on that too.

Over-cranking 1/4 turn past the top resets the ratchet mechanism. That's usually all it takes, unless it's completely failed.

Does it click while you Crank up.

Also, are you cranking it while the one cable bolt is not in place? Probably not a great idea.

Not cranking without all in place. Because I couldn’t get the blot all the way through the whiffle tree, I just put the nut on inside the bar and tightened it that way.
