Hi all,

I have a 2017 Coachman Clipper 128 LS. The Dometic bag awning was recently destroyed in a freak hail storm, and I am working on replacing it with the insurance company. I am looking for recommendations for a new awning, as the Dometic never stayed taught and fell down a lot. Shade is ther key thing I am after and if it had walls that would be a plus. Looking to spend around $750, as that is what insurance will cover. The length is about 10' 8" long. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a new Dometic 944NT11.002 Trim Line Case Awning - Azure - 11 Foot Length from HannaRV.com last year. The price was $399.99 plus tax.

@Lesschamps - I have the awning and screened room from my Coleman Niagara that I'm sure we could could work out a price on. The screened room was never used, and the awning was only a few times. The awning is in very good shape, was always kept in the garage when not in use. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks.

I am partial to the Carefree of Colorado Campout awning. I love not having any guy ropes regardless of if I have the legs going to the camper or not. They run $500-$600.

Thanks, Kevin! If it were me, I would be very interested, but since I have to work through insurance, I think I have to go with a new awning.

Lesschamps - Typically the insurance company will pay you based on the estimate you give them, or if the adjuster can determine the cost to replace they might use that. Usually they don't wait for a paid receipt showing your replaced / repaired, the claim is based on and paid on the estimate of repair/replacement. So you should be able to purchase whatever you want to replace with. I'm an insurance agent and have been involved with claims for many years.

I would also be interested depending on where your at, cost and shipping. I’m guessing it would fit my 2010 Niagara

If you have a shop in your area that does boat covers and the like, they may be able to make you one. Last fall we took our old awning to Oshkosh Tent and Awning and with the bar and legs from the old one, the sewed us a completely new awning and bag. Also this way we got to pick out exactly the color and pattern we wanted. This is better than the original. With the old one, it was always a hassle to get it rolled up tight enough to zip the bag bag up. Now it puts away and zips easy. And we didn't have to change anything with a different brand of awning......same awning and hardware. Just new material.
