I live near this campground and me and my wife go 2 or 3 times a month it's pretty close to town were you can do a ton of stuff like a few museums and the park side of the campground witch is separated by a lake. The park has paddle boats and Jhon boats as dose the campground. The campground has restrooms with hot showers. There is sites with power and water or just power and sites with neither but has water is available on this loop. There walking trails and walking them is a peaceful walk with nice wide paths and biking is also available. Newport News itself has many things to do and beaches are not too far away. It is also a short 30 minute ride to colonial Williamsburg and bush gardens. As a local i have been camping there for 7-8 years now and have never had a problem. It is just a awesome campground.
