Nugget Lack (Pierce County) campground is located in western Wisconsin about 1 1/2 hours west of the Twin Cities (depending on where you are). It is located off the beaten path by Plum City and has all the amenities one would need.
It is situated on a lake formed by damming up a river and allow only boats with electric motors - kayaks and canoes are well suited for the lake as there is a lot of shoreline for fishing. There is a large park area by the lake and many boats to rent (31 that I counted - kayaks, Jon boats, canoes, etc.). The boat ramp is about 1/2 mile from the campsites, so it is a nice walk to get there or a car ride if you are taking a canoe or kayak.
The sites are secluded and there are water and bathrooms (pit and flush) throughout the park as well as a central playground, and a flush station. The showers (25 cents for 2 min) are clean and well kept up.
On Friday and Saturday nights, the park shows a 1/2 hour movie in the amphitheater (seats maybe 75 people) and there are other children activities Saturday and Sunday morning.
The check-in area has fishing licenses for sale and had hummingbirds galore - maybe 20 or so were in and out of the multiple feeders hanging around the building.
This is another Wisconsin county park that we will visit again in the future.
