Beautiful Colorado
We have two outdoor mats for our 8 ft box, 6x10 and 10x12. The larger is usually under the clam if the clam ( screen room) isn't over the really heany park picnic table. If there isn't room for the rug , as when there's a rr tie or such right outside the door, we often fold it and put the fold under the camper so we can still use the rug.

We love the awning and bought a "camco awning hold down strap" for less than $20 and it really gives us peace of mind when the wind picks up. Which it often does here in CO.

Be watchful with the hold down strap. The wind stress is still on the awning. I've seen photos of the awnings ripped off various campers, because that was the point that gave way. Also, on some popups, the wind stress with an awning in the wind, tied down or not, can pull on the lift system, lifter arms, etc. to a damaging degree.
We too camp in Colorado and other states where wind is a fact of life. We've had a shade structure and a screen house flattened in the same CO campground, because it tends to have canyon winds most days. we did use the awning on the second popup there, but with great care. In the same campsite, we never leave the awning out on our TT, unless we're in the campsite, and it's always retracted at night.

I mis spoke....I went back on my amazon orders and our rug is 6x9 and it just sticks out
past my awning depth and have a 7ft awning so i am thinking it appears the awning is 7 feet wide
by roughly 6 ft deep...Not very big at all.
$32 on amazon...The link was too big to copy and paste here.
Here is a pic of what 6x9 will be under your awning.

Hi we just bought a rockwood camper not sure how deep the awning is ? The box of the camper is 8 feet and the awning is 7 feet across but not sure how deep. I am wanting to get an outside rug but not sure what size to get I am thinking either 7 or 8 feet across the front but how deep is the average I should get to maximize outside space?
Thanks for all your comments. Some good advice, I think I will go get a second one , I ended up finding a 5x7 so will get 2 that should cover the area well. 😁

I’m late to this but will add. I find two smaller mats more useful than one big one. It’s asa but of versatility. Use one or both for the door/awning area. Or use one for door & another for screen tent or privacy tent or whatever.
