Sitting on the side of the road (I75 in Ocala),traffic snarled as usual,I've just been rear ended while stopping for said traffic. Wondering what to do next,my hitch tongue is sheared off and my Aliner is resting on the hitch coupler. How do I get it home (2 hours away),guy who hit me is no help when a truck pulls in front of me and the driver gets out . He walks back and ask me what the hitch receiver size is,I reply and he says "it's your lucky day". He goes to the truck and grabs a hitch with the ball attached and say "try this". We flipped the hitch to get the correct height and he and the driver who hit me lift the tongue on to the ball and I'm ready to roll. Gentleman wouldn't accept payment for the hitch, "just keep it" he said and got into his truck and drove away.
Aliner possibly "totaled"

We have the same hitch, it's a love hate thing, I like the fact I can easily get the trailer level, but the trailers I use regularly I have the correct one for as I can't take all the looseness in the all in one adjustable hitch rattling around on longer trips.

My Aliner was rear ended last October and I think my damage was worse. I posted about my repair process. Contact me if you have any questions.

I hope your aliner isn't totaled, that really a good and sad story at the same time.

Insurance company is confused as to which way to go.
What doesn't show in the picture is:
Floor in the aft end is buckled
Aft fiberglass wall is destroyed
If you look down the sides of the trailer you can see the wavy lines where the sides were compressed, it's either delams or separations from the support structure

That's bad, I sure hope uou get a somewhat decent amount.
I actually had a "stated value" policy. Fingers still crossed...
I just hope it doesn't take me 6 months to find another in the same configuration. Real bummer is the fact I spent a month replacing every foam and rubber seal on the trailer (2016),first trip on new tires/wheel bearings.
