Pop-up camping in Vegas?

We will be traveling through Las Vegas from July 3 until the 5th this year. It seems that campgrounds with hook-ups are only for RV's. We would really like hook-ups because the heat will be unbearable in July. We will definitely be using our AC. Even the camping sights without hook-ups are first come, first served, a concern seeing as how it will be the 4th of July. If we try for a dry sight and don't get a spot, can you boon dock a pop-up in the hotel parking lots? We were told to try this, and did it in a motor home, but never in a pop-up. Any advice about camping in Vegas in a PUP will be greatly appreciated!

If you want to be on the strip, Circus Circus has a KOA located onsite. They are full hookups only. The rate is $51 a night for 2 adults, no pets, but if you have AAA or Good Sam you get a 10% discount on the rate. You can reserve a site and PUPs are allowed there. Yes you will need A/C and Gizmos to keep it cooler. If you can get a back in site so you have a little more privacy, otherwise they are pull through and you will have people walking by on the front and back of your PUP. Hope this helps. If you don't want to be on the strip, we have stayed at Lakeside RV Park and Casino. It is about an hour west of Las Vegas. They also have full hookups and a little lake in the center along with other amenities. We have seen many PUPs there in the past.

There several other Casino RV parks; more like parking lots with hookups. As long as your money is green, they are not that picky concerning type of RV. If you do mine some driving, Valley of Fire State Park has a campground with hookups and much nicer surroundings.

It was just down the strip a little, easy to find and safe. Full hookups, I would stay again when we pass through Vegas. I prefer hotel stays in Vegas but when your close to Vegas the PUP is perfect! 4 star resort all the way a far cry from a state park, but you are in the heart of the city.

Depends on what you really want. We did Circus Circus KOA June of 2012 and it was fine. Clean facilities and felt safe, but it is just a parking lot...all asphalt. It is hot during the day, but cools off nice at night.

Can't help with a parking spot but make sure you hit Red Rock Canyon while you're there.

I checked the Circus Circus KOA and they state on their website only RVs and Airstream. In the photos from other RV resorts, I don't see any pop-ups. I'll try to call some of the places you all mentioned. Thanks so much!

We camped in our popup at Oasis it was fine. Hot during the day, buy hay it's Vegas!

Good news! Hitchin' Post accepts pop-ups, has electricity, and takes reservations! Thank you so much for the suggestion NJGuy. I cannot wait to start camping in our pop-up again! We only get to do it during the summer.
