So far I've only been to one rally. That was the Arizona boondocking rally last May. The very first Portal member I met was Squid14 (he doesn't post much). I was the first one there and he pulled in about an hour after I did. All together there were about 23 others. That was a big rally and everyone had a great time. I wish I could get down there this year but that's not possible.

I'm looking forward to the Washington (at Salmon la Sac in the Cascades) and Northern California (at Lassen Volcanic National Park) rallies this year. Both attendance rosters are slowly growing.

Wrenchgear at the Bon Echo Provincial Park Rally in Eastern Ontario a couple years ago. I think there were only two of us there. Not the biggest turn out but coordinating the pot luck was relatively easy. :)

Met JamesRL and his family at the first failed rally we had in Southern Ontario several years ago... Only three camping families showed up, was real easy to decide where the campfire was going to be...lol

StormTrooper at the Wells SP rally. I remember him leaving his cooler at Dave's site so that the wheels wouldn't make noise on his way back to his site. We misunderstood and emptied it for him.... [LOL] [LOL] [LOL]

I knew DSchlosser already, [:O] [:O] I expected the cooler to be lighter the next day. [LOL] [LOL]

Seriously though, I met the first person on the way to the first New England Rally (thank you mercman) at Burlinggame RI SP.
It was Kevin (KMH) and he had a wicked case of sway in his pup from putting a hitch basket on the back of his pup. [:O]
It took him a bit longer than me to get there. [;)]

it,s kinda of a funny story, too me at least ! i met old geezer before but not at a rally, i was talking to him about camping in PA at laurel hill state park. i asked him about certain sites to book one particular weekend, he told me he frequents the park a lot and that he would be on site number 6 with his htt that particular weekend. so i tried booking a site close to him, getting 2 sites up on site number 8. upon arrivial friday i pulled into site number 8 set up camp, i forgot the exact site old geez was on but noticed a htt next to me on site 7. i then approached two men , one who was older and had more gray hair. and then said to him " i guess you are the OLD GEEZER here?" he looked at me stunned and replied " well ...yea i guess that would be me" after further in our discussion i determined that i had the wrong man> only to meet old geezer on the next site down aliittle later. [LOL]

As far as virtually "meeting", mercman helped me before I even had a working camper, by measuring the roof of his PUP which was the same dimensions to the Rockwood I had bought with tree damage, as a project.

In person, I first Met mercman, storm trooper, and peteacher (god rest her soul), at the Springfield RV show Rally, many years ago. Since that time, we have met many great people, and continue to camp with/see them all regularly. Some have become very close and special friends to us.

Couldn't ask for a better group of folk than PUP folk. [;)]

Kevin,
Confusion happens when you get old. Glad it didn't happen to me.
The first New England Rally was in 2008 at Burlinggame.
The first Springfield RV rally was in 2009.
The 6th Springfield RV Rally will be in 2014.
Pleas don't try and confuse me. [:O]

I had written out that it was at Burlingame, but then thought that the first time we all met was dinner after the RV show. Looks like I was confused, lol. [RTM]
