i just bought and tried mine at the last campground and I was facing more wind than I usually felt comfortable burning a real fire with. I was hesitant to try the propane pit but was very surprised. The flames didn’t bounce around much at all or blow out. It stayed a continuous steady flame. Even more it was a first time I didn’t have to play ring around the fire trying to keep out of the smoke trail. Like you said no having to find someone to babysit a fire if i needed to step away. It’s going to take getting used to hearing the continuous hiss and the woosh of fire as you light the pit And the heat output. Best part I got to drive past those expensive moist bundles of wood sold.I just look at mine and rejoice in the fact that a turn of a dial turns it off and I’m not moving my chair due to smoke.
