thinking of a few locations to hold a rally in spring 2022

Voted, always wanted to go up to Letchworth, the grand canyon of the east! Depending on the dates , i would go!

Also, if i remember corectly there is a pool nearby for swiming, probably an extra fee, not sure.

My thoughts are that area of NY season is about 2 weeks behind our area and will be colder. I would like to go to NY early Oct and maybe catch the colors?? Spring i'm for MD

My thoughts at this point is to pick a location. First, after that I will post thread in appropriate region . both Letchworth, and Battle Run. Are reservable 12,months in advance if not mistaken, rocky gap is 9 months out After that we can narrow down a specific date. Rocky gap only has 30,electric sites available if we choose that , it can still be cold depending if we go early season . So we may have to keep that in mind. I’m thinking either late April. Or early June. At this point. But we can determine that later

So far Letchworth is in the lead, if this location. Wins the vote, I would ok with a fall rally in NY. Granted it doesn’t conflict with Robs rally.

i will leave the location poll run another 8 days closing on June 30, then we can pick a date, so if interested, pick your preferred location, then we will determine a exact date and start booking as the reservation windows open.

FYI, a few years ago I bought a MD golden lifetime pass for $10. It gets you 50% discounts camping Sun - Thurs night. Out of state residents can buy it. You must be 62 yrs old.

I have used it, my first night camping with it more then paid for it.

If we decide to go to Letchworth, especially if we do a fall weekend, I can’t find information about 2022 yet, however it seems like past fall arts festival has been held annually Around the October 9-11 Timeframe, Maybe this may be Something to consider .

Looking on the web, it seems like peak fall foliage in that region is typically The third or fourth weekend of October. however if we would pick Fall , I like the third weekend better, as it starts getting pretty cold after that. I know. Most campgrounds here usually shut down Oct 15, Not sure if Letchworth has a open season, is the campground open year round ? I wouldn’t be opposed to go earlier in the season. Maybe September sometimes. But will consider any month
