Renogy Support - grrrr

I complained to Renogy that their DC-Home app is not putting my charger controller's data on the front page of the app - it just shows zeros. (the data is there in all its glory on the next page of the app - after you tap the controller icon/name).

Here is the response from Renogy:

We have confirmed with the technical department that this controller is a relatively old product type. We are deeply sorry that it is not compatible with our current DC Home APP.

I purchaased my 30A Renogy Rover PG 3 yrs 11 months ago. Its not old!

Their response is a crock of s__t.

Its either wrong, and their programmers (of the DC-Home app) are incompetent) or its correct and they are worse than Detroit at obsoleting stuff.

I am beginning to think that all the Renogy stuff is designed 100% overseas and Renogy USA is just a storefront, meaning that their so called tech support is not capable of understanding what is in front of them (my wife calls such folks "Phone Monkeys").

But at least they gave me an answer !

The tech industry changes almost daily and the crooks right along with it so many manufacturers have to keep up especially apps if they want to keep up with their competition and data secure. So it's very possible their app changed beyond the capacity of the nearly 4 year equipment. Look at the smart phones. After so many years they almost force you to upgrade because they no longer will support their old equipment. That and it's a throw away world we live in sadly. They almost expect people to upgrade the second new technology comes out.

I’ve had to deal with their phone support and the people who answer don’t know a whole lot about the product. I ended up figuring it out for myself and then they want to know how they did in answering my question!

I am so stubborn that I never update/upgrade an app that is working with whatever I’m still using.
(In all of the years that I have been using computers, I think most updates are change for the sake of change with no improvement and frequently worse.) Just something different :/
But I sure like the new cars with safety airbags. :)
