South Beach State Park located just south of Newport and is a hidden gem, in my opinion that allows so much exploration along that section of the beautiful Oregon Coast. It has both a day use and full campground that are open year-round. It has 226 full hook up sites(A-G Loops), 60 tent sites(H and I Loops), 27 yurts(A-C Loops), 3 group tent camps, hiker/biker camp and most all loops have full flush toilets and showers. My family and I have been coming to this SP for as long as I can remember. We usually camp in B and C loops as there is an excellent playground in C loop. Our girls love going there to play. There's also multiuse trails along the South Jetty(that leads to Rogue Brewery and marina). The Cooper Ridge trail is a fun walk that most anyone can do. The South Beach Market is a savior that is just a couple minute drive from the park that has just about everything you need without making the trip across the bridge, not to mention fresh seafood off the boat. There's a little set of shops just tucked in behind the hotel there down the road from the market, lots of neat things to find. This camp ground is excellent year round. We have been here all four seasons and it is always fun with stuff to do both in camp and out exploring.
