Starcraft Meteor Lift NOT Goshen?

Hi

I want to do some routine maintenance on the lift system of my 1998 Starcraft Meteor 814. Everything I've read points to a Goshen Lift System on Starcraft, but when I crawl underneath my pup it doesn't appear to be a Goshen system. Specifically there is no enclosed tube running back to front. Instead I can see the cables running to the four corners of the trailer. I have searched and searched for maintenance instructions but have come up empty. The instruction manual is almost useless.

So I plan to inspect and lubricate the winch and lift arms, anything else I should consider? Goshen maintenance instructions don't appear to apply to my little pup.

Thanks!

Well based on the lift system manual and what I've seen on my PUP, it doesn't appear that StarCraft (or at least my 1998) uses a Goshen system. There don't appear to be any push springs lifting the roof, instead a series of pulleys inside each lift arm. This despite Goshen claiming Starcraft used their system from 1993 - 2008.

Well, that clears up a lot of confusion for me...

Welcome to my world....... We have a '99 Starcraft Spacemaster that we are having trouble finding a replacement winch for.

Ours has a Shelby winch. When you contact Shelby, they will tell you they no longer make this particular winch and that Jayco (who now apparently owns Starcraft) bought the rights to this particular winch along with all of the inventory. Jayco parts will tell you you have to deal with a local dealer, who will probably tell you they can't order parts for a Shelby winch (please hear my frustration through my typing). Finally, I got a kind soul on the phone today that gave me a part # for a new winch. The part # is 0710157 and can be ordered through an approved dealer on the Starcraft site. Still waiting to hear back from said dealer as to how much this will cost......

I tell you this so that maybe you can contact your local dealer with that part # and get a manual. It is apparently the same winch that was originally installed.

Best of Luck!

Haaa! Update....... Jayco charges $799.00 for the replacement winch! We are switching to a Goshen DLB 1200.....

Who knows what they would charge you for the manual!!
