Hi guys,

I recently bought 1987 StarCraft Starflyer
And having trouble with wire the DC side to the new unit.

I switch out the old power converter(series 6400a model6409) to a new WFCO (8700 series) and got the 110v sides working but not the dc side….

There was a white blue red wire coming out from the old converter and I assume that was DC side. I connected the blue to the new converter on the dc side and the white to the ground chassis and for the red wire to the positive battery…FYI the red wire was wire nutted to a black #10 wire that along the blue and white wires went my through the floor board. I haven’t tried the killed stitch yet because frankly I don’t where it is

I need help how to wire those 3 wires( red white blue) to my new WFCO converter!

My taillight won’t work or my ceiling light!!

Can't speak for yours but it could be your camper doesn't have one due to the age. My 1990 Jayco did not have one at all. Wished it did as I almost had a bad accident when I left the light on once.

the 8700 should have a red wire that goes where the old red wire went (wire nutted to the black)
Where the old blue wire wire nutted, one of the colored 8700 should go there.
The 8700 white wire (on the DC side) goes to the old white wire

Whatever 8700 wire replaced the blue, that circuit needs a fuse. Also need red fused and the reverse protection fuse.

the tails lights work off of vehicle power when trailer connected to vehicle

Bupkis- I didn’t try that yet , but will. If I have battery how do I connect the battery to the 8700 I thought the white wire from the 8700 goes to the negative and the red goes I positive

All of the white 12 VDC wires should be connected together along with a drop through the floor, which is bolted to the inside of the primary frame rail right below the converter. The battery negative can be connected at the tongue, to the same screw where the white from the trailer running lights is connected.
