Texas Puppers anyone interested in Wolf creek park rally in September?

i did not see on the site their gate lockout hours.
if they close at 10, i miiiight make it friday night. it will be dark by 830. i wont be able to get off any earlier than 5.
get on road by 5:30. fight dallas traffic.
3.5 hr drivefrom FW, There by 9 ish.?
setting up in dark. ugh.

my dogs.
i know, all the parks say “6 ft. leash.”
when walking her yes. shes good.

before bed, she only wants to play ball.
ball.
ball.
i dont trust her loose, but she needs room to run & jump.
away from road, bitty kids. she’s clumsy still.
shes a happy dog, wants to play, with anyone who will toss the ball.

she barks when strangers approach us, im working on ‘not barking at other dogs.’
i wont put up with barking either, but some is just dog talk.

if we do this middle section,
i was looking at site 50 on far end. i dont mind the walk to the shower.
last thing at nite for me.
the longer the walk, the better we all sleep.

how sloped, rocky or muddy is the beachfront shoreline.?

who is in charge of menu planning?

how many kids are coming? ages?
all my borrowed kids are grown, but i still enjoy doing kid crafts.
i can teach yarn “god’s eyes”, leather stamping, do tye dye t-shirts.
any interest in that type activity?

if its still hot, me & dogs will be “swimming”.

i have a fire pit that doubles as food grill, we can set in central spot.
i willhave plenty of kindling twigs, and will bring my cupcake fire starters.

Kat, your site will be a level cement pad on waterside (50)-you will be happy and cool (maybe breezy), and grass across in blue. Usually good and grassy unless lots of rain has happened. We went kinda crazy with this last year, and I know one big fam with kids can’t come. This will be a small group so not a lot of planning. Usually a group breakfast Sat and potluck Sat dinner. We always love crafts. We usually have a communal campfire. Bring some wood if you have room, but fire pits are there. You might want one at your site as well. Great to have another bday! Office is open late, but if you arrive late, just go to site and check in next am. We can help you set up in dark if you let us know when you get in. Sounds like fun! My Billy and I will come a couple days early to do some kayaking at Indian Creek up the road. Txbum might also since I think both will be retired by then. Once we get a head count on those who have made reserves, we can make this rally official at 5 sites.

Hi all, first thing tomorrow will reserve a site. Dan & Debra enjoy the romantic get away for your anniversary. On Saturday we try to get the men folk together to cook breakfast for all. Coffee will be available at the breakfast. Robin, Lonestarcamper is really good at organizing events so perhaps we can lean on her. Jane and I will prepare the welcome packs and some goodie bags to hand out to the kids after potluck. We ask parents to check goodie bags , some kids might not be able to have sweets ,etc. Txbum, richard.

i can contribute glowstick to kids goodies.
my firepit is the deep straight wall round one. it holds charcoal grill racks. i use it to cook and for fire pit ( cuz the camp ones are in strange places)

Alright, got my reservation , site 15 , Sep 7 thru 10..Txbum. Invite your friends, this is one of Texas's nicest parks. Tents are welcome. I will be bringing a pop up canopy or two, a table, string lights for the potluck area set up. Don't forget your camp chairs. Thank you for the glow sticks. Txbum.

Katskamper, there really is no slope to shoreline. There is a bulkhead (sea wall)...there are steps or ladder entrances to the water. You may be able to see on some YouTube videos of Wolf CREEK park. im trying to make it safe for Barney.
he cant see to climb over anything, but he loves the water.
now to tell work mates i want off early that friday.
