As I progress on my exterior gearing setup I will try to capture a few pics to help show my progress. I am hoping for a smooth assembly/design that will produce an easier lifting/lowering experience. PUP is perfect in all aspects except for this. As many have talked about on these threads, we looked at the unit two years ago on the dealer lot when it was opened/setup and the appearance sold us on the purchase. We went in for pickup next weekend, and unit was all neatly packed up ready to tow. Until we began using ours that first late season did I begin to realize the wear on the lift system, and last season was only a couple of outings while trying to research any/all options to ease the problem. Took it into my own hands, and this earlier season decided to work on changing over from manual to some sort of power assist. Will update in future.

Well I might as well throw in my two cents. Last weekend I purchased a slightly used 2003 Viking Epic 1906. This thing look like it just came off of the showroom floor. I have not found a thing that I need to repair or clean on it. I did add trailer electric brakes to it yesterday, and I will be adding Solar next week. The only think that I think I will replace is the spare tire. It looks like it is the original tire that was on the trailer when it was new. It still looks good, but is a little old for my liking.

We have a 2010 Viking epic 1706 - does anyone know where you can order replacement parts? We need a few things for our unit but it sure is hard to find much on these Vikings I'm finding. Any advice? Specifically, last summer we got caught camping on one of the rainiest weekends, and one of our awning poles snapped due to the weight of the downpour coming down. Looking to replace that.

Hi Rachelle, if worst comes to worst, Canadian Tire has generic awning poles which might work for you. I got some nice poles from sailrite.com so you could look there, if you can't find originals.

Got a '93 Viking toward the end of season last year. This year, in May, I was preparing for a weekend away when the cable gave way. Thank goodness no one was inside. Had to leave it until now and finally got the top up yesterday. I see that the large cable attached to the winch has unraveled, but, it appears the rest of the system is ok. So, now what? Does anyone know how to re-assemble the cable to the winch? There is next to nothing available online for help, and I hope the newer models do NOT have the L&W system. Thanks for any suggestions.

I need help, and I’m not sure if this is where to ask my questions?

I have a 2013 Viking 2407ST and I need the owners manual so I can figure out a few things like
1. how to get the fridge to work,
2. How to get the lights to work if it’s not plugged in.
3. What fuses do I need to try if something blows? I see the panel where the 3- 15amp fuses are and one 30amp. Are there more somewhere?
4. Is there a switch I have to turn if I’m not hooking up
To shoreline power?

next, I bent the slide out piece (metal bar with holes cut out, one on each side) to the bed. Where can I find a replacement?

the front plate cover on the fuses broke off & id like to replace that too.

also, the two plastic “pole holders” for the awning to snap in to to support it are broken also.

I was hoping to find something with a list of parts or part numbers? And proper names for these things.

any help would be appreciated please.

thanks in advance,
Bonnie

How hard is it to have electric brakes added?

It's not too bad. Most campers already have the square plate on the axle. It just a matter of ordering the full kit from eTrailer.com. They will tell you everything you'll need. The wiring is fairly simple as long as you have the 7-pin plug on the tongue. If the square plate is not already on your axle, you might be able to order one and have someone weld it on for you.

That is a whole lot of thinking to do with those requests. You might want to start with just one item at a time. Does your camper have a battery? Also, take a photo of the back of your Fridge so we can see the controls. There are a couple different types of Fridges. I'd need to know for sure which one we are dealing with.

Reading about other peoples lift problems I don't think the L&W is a bad one, for your info, look on the resourses tab on the home page.(https://www.popupportal.com/resources/lw-lift-system-replacement.12/)

New member and joined the Viking club. 2008 2407st. Used it last weekend for the first time and we love it. So far everything seems to work. Only thing haven't tested is water heater. Anode looks to be corroded in place. Looking forward to many adventures with the family in this thing. Happy camping from GA.

Just purchased my first pup. New to me 2001 Viking 1906 ST. Bit of a lemon, but I'm trying to make lemonade. The entire front storage box is a mess. All 4 corners of inside floor is rotted, as are parts of the roof where the latches are. How do we fix those areas where the latches are? I ordered the new latches, but I'm talking about the rot and fiberglass. All wisdom appreciated!

That is scary! If by chance you change your mind on repairing it, I could use some of those door parts.
We have a 2012 Viking 2109 with a broken door frame. On the side opposite the hinge the little plastic tab that connects the top to the bottom has broken off. And that side of the frame is loose and just floats around making the door difficult if not impossible to close. Anyone have a possible fix or solution?
