West Lake Park

Hi, I'm going to an event in Davenport in July, so am researching campgrounds. I see the Scott County campgrounds are all first come, first served. Is it hard getting a spot? We are considering coming in Thursday, will that help? I was look at the Park Terrace campground in West Lake Park, are there others we should consider (not too far from downtown Davenport)? Thank you in advance!

It really depends on when you are coming in July. If it is the weekend of Bix and Ragbrai, the earlier the better. Scott County Park is another option. It’s a bit further than West Lake but you can take the interstate straight into town. I grew up in Davenport and now live in the next town over. Feel free to message me with any questions.

Thanks, I really appreciate the response! Yes, we are coming in for Bix, and right now are shooting for Thursday afternoon. Thanks for the tip on Scott County Park, I'll keep that in mind!

No problem! Buffalo Shores May be an option as well. It’s currently underwater from the flood. Wether they reopen this year will depend on how much damage there is. The campground is right on the river which is cool.

Hi Jweible, just wanted to write and thank you for the recommendation of Scott County Park. We ended up going there, as it looked like there was more to do and not too much further. The park was great! I'm going to write up a review, but just wanted to say thanks again
