Our 2003 Westlake is Sunbrella...the white part on yours is probably the same, the Green part looks like some type of Vinyl, but maybe it's Green Sunbrella. They used ot have Owner's Manuals available on this site for download, have you checked?

Reading the ops manual, it lists canvas, and directions for such leads to canvas. So its probably not sumbrella. Its a diffent manafature. They all use diffeent things for the tenting.

From 2015 to 2024 the clippers have vinyl tent material. The Coachman website doesn't have any manuals older than 2015. The following is from a 1998 Clipper Manual. The 2015 and 2024 manuals have, basically, the same information:

For sure the stuff that looks like vinyl is vinyl. Doesn't need waterproofing, but cleaning for sure. Treating... I don't know. most of that stuff just treats you to a lighter wallet.

If there is fabric looking stuff, whether it is canvas or some synthetic like sunbrella, it can be treated with waterproofing, but to be sure, it may be water-repellant at most. Don't think that stuff can ever be made water-proof.

And 303 is a brand name, there are like 42 different 303 products. Find the one for vinyl protectant.

Thanks everyone for the responses.
I think i will go with " vinyl impregnated canvas" Not only is that what it looks like, but my "Coleman" memory agrees. Coleman used that as a selling benefit in their sales literature--that Coleman canvas "breahed" and allowed moisture vapor to escape--while competitor's all vinyl retained that moisture and could become 'clammy".

Thanks again for the help!

Thanks--and a good suggestion. However the manual says very little about care of the tent. It says nothing about the tent marterial. " Wet it before first use", "Always ventilate and allow to dry ...after exposure to moisture." " Rinse with cool water. Allpow the tent to dry completely before lowering."

All in all not much information. in the Manual.
You are going to want to do what the manual tells you to do...they had the same instruction in 1998 as they do for the new models. Get it wet, let it dry and go camping!

2005 Coachmen Clipper 1070ST ( or Viking) I plam to clean and waterproof in a week or two. I can't find any literature that tells me what the fabric might be. I expect that the top is probably a vinyl, but what about the sides? Most waterproofing materials say not to use them on vinyl.
Can anyone tell me what Coachmen/ Viking was using in 2005?
I dont have any info on this situation however my brother gave me a 2005 Coachman Clipper and the lift system doesn't work. He has since passed away and I don't have the manual. I know it's missing parts but nit sure what all is missing. Can you give me a call and possibly send me pics if that part of the manual if you have it. Thanks for any help 6787736537. Anytime before 11pm is fine. Please leave a message if I don't answer.
