Goblin Valley is a 1 day excursion. But it is located within the San Rafael swell which is large by huge and weeks worth of stuff to look at and do. Last year my wife and I spent 4 days there. Two of them exploring for 8 hours (in our truck) and the only road we took twice was the one heading to our camper. Lots and lots of room for wilderness camping. Not a hookup in sight. It was nice not to have to leash our dogs. They took off and I watched them go until they were specks then whistled and waited for about 30 min for them to make their way back. Nobody around us for miles. 1st things to knock of the list in the Swell is the little Grand Canyon and Buckhorn wash.

We're scheduled for next weekend (4/14to 4/16) as the temps are predicted to be in the middle 80's and blue skies here in northeast Pa. Going to Slumber Valley campground in Tunkhannock Pa for Fri and Sat night for our shakedown cruise in our new pup. (New to us, 2006 Fleetwood Highlander Niagra highwall). We have 2 other families and were lucky enough to get three sites together along the creek. Only drawback is the well is out and there is no water service.

Well, so much for the first trip from hell....lol. 86deg and i had more problems than I could shake a stick at. All my fault though, except for the broken receiver on my truck.

Our first will be to a local state park just after memorial day for a weekend, to get things sorted out... then, a solo trip coast to, almost, coast, to central penna. where it'll be a month and a half at a campground while clearing up and prepping the old family home in 17844 to sell. Then the solo drag back west to go back to work until retirement.

Here in Ohio, we have seen people out with thier PUPs since early April. I personally have camped each month since February, but I have a TT so that doesn't count.

Welcome to my camping world, though, we get plenty of sun in between the torrents. We, oddly, get more rain than the PNW but also more sunny days. That saying “when it rains it pours” applies to us in SE USA. Hope you got some sunny days at some point.

We just go back from a week+ in Idaho. It was too soon, so we stopped the trip half way through. Roads closed, campgrounds closed, and so forth. Wild hot springs flooded out.
