Not as bad as it sounds, it is the small wheel that is on the tongue of the trailer that you lower down before you unhook it from the TV. The bad part is it happened while my husband was towing it to the campground, so it is somewhere on the side of the road. My question is can you buy another one of these and how hard is it to put it back in there?
Thank you

If it's the kind that detaches from the jack, you can get by without it. We often leave it off just cause I'm too lazy to put it on. We just put a block of wood under it. It's nice to have the wheel if the wind picks up and you need to turn the trailer into the wind though.

I wonder if an RV salvage place would have one. Even if they aren't close by, they could probably ship it for a reasonable price.

Good luck.

Any place that sells Trailers will have them, we have 2 trailer Mnfg. close by and they sell the jacks and the wheels and all of the other tounge accesories. Try yellow pages before ordering Freight will kill any "Good Deal" that you may find.

I picked mine up USED at an RV dealer for about 7 bucks or something like that. Mine is not bolted to the tongue jack and I do not leave it on there when I tow.

In fact, the only time I use it is when I want to push the camper by hand into storage. I figure one less wheel on the PUP reduces my chances of rolling away by 33% !!!

But, seriously - I do feel a little more stable with that tongue jack on the ground than I do having another wheel up there. Just my opinion..

Thank you guys so much. He found the wheel on the way back home on the side of the road, We didn't know that you could take it out, so we will remember that next time.

Wow !! That was lucky. I lost a hub cap one time and watched the exact spot it rolled into the weeds. I stopped immediately and went back to get it.

That was 6 years ago. It's probably still there somewhere.

Glad you found it!

They aren't expensive, if anyone does ever need one - like Tahoen said, any place that sell items for trailers - like farm equipment, contractor places, etc. will carry them. you do need to know the diameter of your post, though - as there are 2 or 3 different sizes

I bought one for my PUP - the original was long gone , but it was too big. Not much, but just enough that it's not real steady, and it falls off as soon as the tonge is on the hitch and the jack post goes up high enough to clear.

I got a trailer dolly, instead, for moving the camper around the driveway to work on it - as the fat tires and handle make it SO much easier to manuver, especially on grass!

I have never use our tongue wheel. I took it off the first day we had the pup and tossed into the storage compartment. I use a big old piece of railway tie under the crank instead of the wheel.
