I think moose are magnificent creatures, although prefer to see them from some distance.
I once was snorted at by one not too many feet from me, on the other side of a bush, back before they redid the Death Canyon trailhead. I came lurching out of the potty. which was at some crazy angle, and startled the moose - and myself. I never knew if I had missed seeing it on the way to the potty or it started snacking on that bush while I was in there.

Dang neat! Saw on the natl. news this morning where a lady walking her dog on a roadside got nailed in the back of the head from behind by a moose, had to get staples; said she thought she'd been hit by a bike or something...

They kick. Pretty aggressive usually. We give them lots of space.
